Meet Eric

At a very young age, I knew I would never be sitting in an office. I knew that I would never truly be happy, unless I was chasing my creative pursuits.  I knew that wherever I ended up, I would be creating.

It wasn’t until my sophomore year of high school, when I joined the Yearbook Team.  A digital camera was placed on my desk. At random, I was chosen to be the photographer for such endeavors. I asked myself, “why me?” I had never used a professional camera before, and to say I had no idea what I was doing, would be an understatement.  It was at that moment that I changed my art elective to Photo.

I found my passion, a new love, through that elective.  Immediately, I fell in love, learning how to work with film, editing my own prints in a dark room. I fell in love with figuring out how the lighting would turn out and how to make the best of a good roll of film. Specifically, working with natural light and not depending on any digital enhancements, was one of the most challenging things I have ever done.  At this young age, it presented a lot of challenges, failures and successes. And ever since, it has been one the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life.

Photography allows me to not just capture something beautiful, but allows me to capture emotions, feelings, and vulnerable moments. And in that split second, I am able to allow others to see themselves in a new light, for a lifetime within my work.
